Burghley

On Saturday we found ourselves partaking in our first Christmas event of the year (bar the community concert I'd taken part in on the Friday) heading off to Burghley house with the Mother and her Mother. A fine, but tiring, day had by all perusing the various stalls and mingling with the local wildlife. The day ended with the grand decoration of mum and dad's house and a much deserved chinese Smiling

Nannism

We were told not to expect any more than 6 chicks so there was immense excitement (I resisted the need for a pun!) when so many fluffy balls of yellow materialised. To capture the hatching and allow more of students to see it the IT department rigged up a webcam to stream to the intranet and tv screens. We've never had so many hits on one page as staff and students alike spent their days watching in eager anticipation for that first crack to appear.

Apocalyptic

A rather small and grainy image (I only had my phone handy) but one which almost captures the apocalyptic scene of the storms last Friday. The whopping great big black cloud was directly over the school building, the view is from my study window at home. This is what I was heading into...
