Well here we go then, the home stretch, nearly finished, the back broken on all the work I had to do.
Very lousy week last week, if it could go wrong it did. I\'ve always been of the opinion that schools would be a much easier place to work if they didn\'t have all the kids... I\'ve changed my mind. Schools would be a much easier place to work if they didn\'t have all the teaching staff. Deadlines anybody? Note to self, if it involves a deadline staff work on the \"see deadline add three weeks\" rule. Or, in some cases, three months - I believe this is how they set the deadlines for coursework?
I\'ve finally got all of the subject certificates printed, although not without the added hassle of having to print some separately at the last minute. Now just year leaders awards to do and I can put a line under that job. I\'m certainly glad I didn\'t leave this job to the last minute this year, I definitely needed the bit of lee-way I\'d given myself. Certainly proud of the macros I wrote though, think I might try and turn them into something for more general use - automated mailmerges is pretty cool
The TMA is finished, as of yesterday... I complain of people not meeting my deadlines and I struggle to meet them too! I\'m not happy with it but it was the best I could do under the circumstances, definitely could have done with a bit more time for it.
Class lists/ timetabling input thingy is going well. A little bit to finish this week and some final checking to do but then I think that job can be ticked off as well. Certainly seems to have run smoother this year, much easier just having a couple of people do it, can keep track of everything then. Will be doing the sixth-form stuff in the holidays so something to look forward to!
Let\'s see, what else is there? Hmm, report writer - this needs attention this week. I need to write a \"Report Writer for Dummies\" guide (and if last week was anything to go by it\'s going to have to be really really simple!). Other than that not much more to do at my end - all the time invested earlier on in the year has paid off.
The Shout should also be ready for a last once over when I go back today and then off to the printers. This has taken longer than anticipated, partly due to me being too busy (they were very patient with me last week) and partly because, after new intake the other night, there was no real rush for the \"big\" edition. Hoping it\'s a good one this year, the content is certainly good, hopefully my design will do it justice.
Summer concert programme to finish this week ready for printing. Also a \"memory book\" to finish organising which, although rather fun and different, has a very sad purpose Next week is going to be tough, loosing a lot of good friends. The end of a era.
