Word Wildcards

Every now and again I need to remove unwanted linefeeds and carriage returns from a piece of (usally pasted) text. As this is not a frequent job and my memory is useless I usually spend a while trying to remember the exact codes for doing this. It can be done via words find and replace feature but what to replace? Hopefully this will help next time I'm stuck.
