A simple mathematical model where only the connectivity information is preserved.

Consists of:

  • Points - vertices
  • Lines - arcs
  • Numbers on the arcs (e.g. distance) - weights

Advantages: a simple visual representation of a journey by giving the main pieces of informatin - place names and distances.

Disadvantages: You loose out on further information and visual representations.
