Guess What

I have the dreaded lurgy... again. Sore throat, bad head, cold, feeling sick, the complete works. Lovely. All for a weekend too. Great.

Another busy week last week although unfortunately not spent on the stuff I wanted to spend it on. Mostly running too and fro to cover babysitting duties Sad Managed to successfully teach Andrew to hit the enter key on cue though which is proving to be useful, he can be entertained whilst I do dull stuff... he quite likes it when I send the linux box off on jobs that create lots of pretty writing on the screen Smiling

After going around in circles for a couple of days (I was ill remember) I've finally managed to get php and mysql totally up-to-date on the webserver which, although didn't solve the problem I wanted it to, did sort out a few other issues so yay for that.

Whilst sat helping a neighbour do some homework last night I realised that we really do learn something everyday, I've learnt tonnes just lately and that's without the help of the OU. In an attempt to keep this blog interesting here's seven things I've learnt this week (one for each day?)

  1. Don't upgrade servers when you're tired
  2. Don't upgrade servers when you're awake
  3. Sometimes it's just easier to use an rpm
  4. There's a dancer called Robert Cohan
  5. Toddlers are just one big germ
  6. Class definitions need to come before sessions start if you want to hold
    objects in session variables
  7. Jags really do eat petrol (Well ok, I knew that one already, but as I watched
the guage inching down whilst sat waiting for the car to de-steam the other
day this one was really drilled home to me - gotta start walking me thinks)
